Chestnut Street Residence

Chicago, IL

The developers of this high-end condominium project in Chicago required an automatic snow melting system for the egress paths between the units on a common terrace. The terrace is located over the underground parking structure and would act as a catch basin for snow.

The project had limited height between the rooftop insulation and the door sills. This required a snowmelt system that could fit in a 1.5” space and allow for supply and return tube routing as well as manifolds.

Therma-HEXX engineered the ThermaPANEL layout to match the architect’s pedestal mounted paver layout while allowing for channels in the ThermaPANEL insulation for tube routing and recessed areas in the roof insulation for manifold placement.
